Cayman Vacations - What's New ?
Site Re-Design: We have completely re-designed our web site and it is now online (you are viewing it now!). We've simplified the site a bit and moved all the general island info off the CaymanVacations.com website. The large number of pages and wide variety of info was a bit distracting for our primary service - renting condos. All general info pages have been moved to a separate web site (link coming soon).
The brand new luxury condos at the old site of the Beachcomber are scheduled to open just around xmas 2008. We are now accepting reservations from January 2009 onwards. Located in the prime central 7 Mile Beach area, the resort offers luxury class 2, 3 and 4 bedroom oceanfront condos. For further info see our Beachcomber web page.
The Reef Resort on the islands East End, now offers an all-inclusive option for guests. You can now have all meals and bar/restaurant drinks, as well as snorkel gear included for one flat nightly rate. See our Reef Resort web page for further details.
The new ultra-luxury Caribbean Club condos opened in late 2007. This is a new concept for luxury condos on 7 Mile Beach. The resort offers an on-site Italian restaurant and bar, room service and the staff can even arrange for a private chef in the guest's condo, or a personal assistant to help those that have to work while they are on vacation (or who just like to have someone to arrange things for them).
Construction continues on the new luxury condo complexes The Beachcomber (at the old site of the Beachcomber) and The Renaissance (at the old site of Tarquynn Manor). Both are expected to open by early 2009.
Beach Club Colony will be torn down and a top luxury condo complex will be built in it's place. The new complex will be called Watercolours and the 3600+sq ft 3 and 4 bedroom condos are currently selling from 3 to 6 million dollars.
Spanish Bay Reef, the island's only other all-inclusive resort has also been sold along with an adjoining parcel of land and will be re-developed into a 5 star resort.
The Hyatt corporation has pulled out of Cayman. The former Hyatt Beach Suites will now operate as Grand Cayman Beach Suites and will still be offering suite rentals. The main Hyatt building is still vacant pending insurance settlements from damage sustained during Hurricane Ivan in 2004. There is no news yet on a settlement or what the future of this complex will be.
